Finders, Meters & Test Strip Printers - Picture Making - Firstcall Photographic Ltd
The Paterson Test Strip Printer provides a convenient means of creating a series of five test exposures on one piece of paper. Simply slide a piece of 4"x 5" paper into the easel and use the five long tabs to make the series of test exposures. The tabs can be raised or lowered one at a time or all together. A wide groove is provided in the center of the easel to make loading and removing the paper easy, and the easel has a white surface so the projected image can be seen clearly. The following procedure has been used successfully by myself for several printers. If you luck out and can use your printer driver's default settings, great. Otherwise, it make take an hour or more of printing and comparing test strips, using two sheets of paper. Note that although it's important to calibrate your monitor carefully, this procedure relies on a gray reference strip for calibration, and does not depend on having your monitor perfectly calibrated. As you print each step wedge, mark it with the date and settings so that you do not repeat any work.

This is Neopan film, developed i I have posted a series of photos in a Flicker Album titled "DIY Darkroom Localized Test Strip Printer" showing my DIY project for a localized test strip printer giving different exposure times to the same area ie localized of the negative being printed.
